I noticed today that my local Walmarts have started stocking WPP (Warren Performance Products) conventional oil instead of the XOM oil that was sold in this area.
I'm not sure why or if it even makes a difference. I have the MSDS on both and they are similar(the WPP is slightly thicker at 100*c). Both are SM.
I've been buying 5qt jugs here and there in anticipation of rising oil prices. Perhaps this change is an early sign? Gas here is $2.80/gal and heating oil will be increasing again by winter. I can't imagine motor oil prices will stay the same for long. I have 15 oil changes stocked so far for my three vehicles.
I guess we'll see how it goes.
