Walmart has the newest Supertech oil filters out. They are baby blue and appear to be slightly different in design. I noticed right away that the hole pattern on the bottom was different. There were the usual small holes with one slightly larger one off to the side. I remember seeing that on another filter, although I can't remember which brand.

Are you sure these aren't from y2k? The first STs were a purplish color.

1999 and prior were champ labs made STPs with a little cellophane window in the box. There was a 6-month interval with only frams

then those Supertechs came out.

Look inside a 3614 or 3600 and tell us if they're the new plastic e-core or old metal.

The light blue ones are probably old stock. They have changed designs on some of the lines, but all I have seen are black. There are several posts dedicated to the new E-core filters.

The box is the exact same design and lettering as the black box's. I looked inside and saw what appeared to be the same type of bypass valve and a metal screen with holes, just like the black box type.
This is not a purplish color, it's pure baby blue. There was only one size available in that color. And of course, I forgot that number.
It may be nothing, but I thought it was interesting.

I'll bet they just discovered some old stock in the back room and brought it out. I've seen a couple of those baby blue ones mixed in with the black before.
