Supertech filters on 5.4 Ford?

I like the SuperTech. I don't know if the one you are referring to always had the top mounted bypass, but if it does-good deal

I have off and on used the Supertch ST2 filters on my F-150 5.4 Those and Motorcraft. Bought a few Mobil 1 AC Delco and Castrol Maxpro when K-Mart had them on sale. I found some of the Supertech filters at Wally World with the bypass spring in the top like Ford says it should be. You guys think these are okay?? I bough all of those they had cause they are hard to find. Are these an older style they are discontinuing or are they a newer version to come up to Ford specs? Really have to look through all the boxes to find them though. They seem to have a lot more of the one that are made like the STP/Bosch filters than the ones that are made with the bypass spring in the top(next to the mounting base).

The top mounted spring, IIRC, is an older ST2 design. They've moved to the bottom bypass plate again.

Metroplex, The filters I have are the black ones that are supposed to be patially synthetic. Think they are okay?? Did they change lately to cut costs maybe?
