It's off our 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0. The car now has about 26,500 or so on the engine. I hope to keep it nice and clean by substituting a quart of MMO every three oil changes or so. Most likely, the filter looks so good just because of the low miles on the engine...

for your next comparison try cutting about 15 stacked pleats with a razor knife. Then get a real oil filter and try cutting 15 pleats of that material. Enough said

I don't beleive in spending more money on something that really wont make more of a difference with a short 3-7500 OCI.

These filters are built well, they dont collapse. Cant beat Ecores at 2.50 per filter. And as for all the Ecores I have disected and all the Ecore photos posted on this site none of them have had the filter media broken or came out with failed endcaps.

And just food for thought the wix I cut open (photos here somewhere) had a thinner shell than this one. IMO that is more important.

My ST6607 I just pulled has 11,948 miles on it (Two OCI's - Halfway, it was removed, inspected and re-installed). The filter held up great. I'll post pics here in the next few days.

I recently did 20K miles on an oversized Purolator filter (7K, 7K and 6k) miles but did not bother to cut it open and take pictures.

As long as the oil is changed often there is no risk that the filter will get clogged.

That would have been interesting to see the guts on that PureONE. How long of a time span was that filter on the car for?
