Super Tech transmission fluid?'s

I am wondering if the super tech transmission fluid will work in a tranny that needs Mercon V ATF?
My buddy wants to do the cheapest fluid swap he can on his 03 ford escape.

Not sure what you're asking. SuperTech comes in Mercon V flavour...and would be fine for his Escape.

Or was he asking if he can use the SuperTech stuff labelled just "Automatic Transmission Fluid"...then the answer is no. He may have shifting issues and will have torque converter clutch shudder.

Then what is the cheapest Mercon V ATF fluid out there?

WalMart has a multipurpose tranny fluid. The back label says it will work in anything accept the Dex-6

Walmart sells a Super Tech Mercon V. I flushed my vehicles two months ago and the cost was $3.77 per quart.
(Note that they also sell a Super Tech MV version which the container says is ok for Mercon V, however I have always used the Super Tech Mercon V.) I have two ford Expeditions, one with 141k the other with 64k miles. Super Tech Mercon V has performed flawlessly.

Actually whats funny is they advertise the Merc V stuff for more applications than the Multi Vehicle.
Tell him to use the Mercon V stuff or do not even bother.
