JASO MA2 standard is not very stringent at all. Its only real value is the friction test for wet clutches. Most modern oil would pass the test moly or not.
That being said, I would not try toyota factory fill oil in a wet clutch with its 200 ppm of moly.

I stashed some a few years ago from a sale. I'm going to use this on the next oil change in the ZRX 1200. Impressed with the makeup of this oil. Mobil 1 10w40 4T and 20w50 Vtwin have much higher moly and boron but otherwise the Super Tech oils are somewhat similar in additive packages.

Moly ????????

less than 200 ppm of moly is nothing, non issue. Esepcially below 100 ppm, not even worth talking about.

now you get 400 - 700 ppm, now you are bordering to have clutch issues.

Pulled the trigger and this oil is in the ZRX1200 sump as of today. Looking forward to giving it the usual 5,000 mile OCI. Won't get there on miles til next riding season, though.

With that said in the above post, this oil is in the lower half of the range for a 50 grade in terms of initial viscosity. 10w40 SuperTech MC oil is nudging in within a half point of being a 50 grade, both observations based on the VOA's here on BITOG. My instinct based on a used oil analysis of the 10w40 (sheared down, but was in a smaller displacement high rpm engine) is to go with a sample at 2,000 miles to see how well the 20w50 is holding up based on the 10w40 report.

Almost 3,000 miles on this oil in the sump of the ZRX 1200. Shift feel has been consistent since day one, as usual the bike hasn't used a drop, everything about the oil says it's doing good thus far. No reason to pull a sample at this point, I'll take it out to 5,000 miles as I usually do.

Not to point out the obvious but yes a 50 grade is a thicker oil. It wouldn't have made a difference in choosing the oil, however, IMO, 18.4 cST is not a heavy 50 grade by any means. Supertech 10w40 MC oil starts at 15.8 cST, on the heavy side for a 40 grade for comparison. Mobil 1 4T 10w40 starts barely a 40 grade at 13.4 cST.

The ZRX 1200 has known low oil pressure at hot idle, inherent with the design unfortunately. 20w50 helps to mitigate that.

Pulled the trigger and put an air fuel ratio gauge on my ZRX 1200. Which currently has Supertech 20w50 MC in the sump.

In the past 3 days I've made (11) 10,000 RPM second gear runs checking the proper main jet size at wide open throttle and at 50% throttle up to that RPM. Numerous more roll-ons from low RPM to high rpm in different gears checking the air fuel ratio with different needle positions and pilot jets along with pilot screw settings.

3,000 miles on the oil now and it's taking a beating like no oil that has been in the engine for any UOA I have posted since 2017, with the first uoa being from 2013 that is included on that post.

What does the collective tell me to do with respect to analysis on this oil?

Change in the next 500 miles before I do about a thousand miles at the end of June hosting a motorcycle ride here in Colorado or go to 5000 miles like most every other OCI I've posted over the years?
