Here's a couple shots of the Brakebest bracket crimps -- WAY better
The Brakebest came with a banjo bolt. I don't think I've ever seen a Sunsong-Sunsong include the bolt. And it was packaged like this with a plastic plug on the bolt. Sunsong always includes two washers in a baggie.
@Trav have you ever seen a Sunsong-Sunsong come like this? I almost wonder if Sunsong runs two tiers?

Small update: my initial email to Sunsong was ignored. I sent a second copying more people and got a response that, essentially, they're looking into it.
At the risk of confusing readers, I installed another Sunsong-Sunsong from RA on a '00 Ram last night. The connection at the caliper is different (because Ram went to dual piston calipers and a dedicated caliper bracket in '00) but the bracket in question at the control arm is similar to the '98 which started this thread, and it was built correctly (not mirrored).
So, I'm not willing to give up on Sunsong but I'll be a thorn in their side until they decisively say my first hose was either poor QC or a counterfeit. I have offered to send them the offending hose but I'm not holding my breath.
