The answer is obvious!!!! Go to the:

World's Smallest Museum , one of Arizona's finest roadside attractions in Superior on historic US 60, showcases "artifacts of ordinary life," and by doing so, honors the world's extra-ordinary workforce! From a large iron kettle filled with ancient bits and pieces of pottery to the computer on display, a true memorium is subtly woven in one's mind that honors common people."

Where else will you find:

A 1984 Compaq Computer is the relic shown here! It had a whooping 10MB of storage power on its hard drive!

This exhibit showcases the 1960s Mimeograph copier. Many schools and offices used this workhorse to lighten up their workday! It works and even has a can of original duplicator fluid.

This display contains an 8mm movie camera, an autographed picture of Porky & Buckwheat from "Our Gang" and a photo original of Oprah Winfrey from 1974.

This is one of our most popular booths. It contains an authentic Beatles' poster from the 1960s.

And, much much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Q: How much does it cost to visit World's Smallest Museum?

A: It is FREE! How many roadside attractions can say that! However, we hope you will like it enough to donate a dollar or two. Small museums need love too!

Q: Just how small is World's Smallest Museum?

A: Our roadside attraction is a mere 134 square feet under roof and subdivided into 10 glass enclosed display booths, 5 on each side of the tiny building. A walkway down the middle through the length of the museum leaves only 80 square feet to display artifacts!

How can you resist?

Why don't get out of NE and see the world; over in KS is the largest ball of twine.

That's an excellent idea!!!!!

While there, I will trek to Mount Sunflower and brave the dangers to climb to its summit.... like these guys did:

A riveting tale of danger and human perseverence

Here's the main page of the above site:

To whet your appetite:

While ferrying a load up to Base Camp, climber **** Bettinger falls into one of the many crevasses on the route. An alert climbing team springs into action!

ks09.jpg

Quickly, rope is uncoiled and thrown to our comrade in distress. Like a sack of spuds, **** is hauled up out of the crevasse, shaken but unhurt. Later, we span this dangerous stretch of ground with a section of aluminum ladder, and continue moving supplies higher up Mt. Sunflower.

Gosh. Looks as if Kansas may be the vacation hot spot this year.

Maybe Coot will see thee there!!!!

If a car guy doesn't visit some kind of auto-related museum on his summer vacation, it would be a travesty and possible grounds for a permaban from BITOG.

Coot did read and heed.

On the return trip will be traversing the southern route ala I-40 with an eventual deceleration in Missouri to leech of some kin folk.

Planning on stopping at the largest of the Route 66 museums:

"Oklahoma Route 66 Museum From West Interstate 40 Exit Interstate 40 at Exit number 65 entering Clinton on Gary Blvd. traveling approximately 1/4 of a mile with the Route 66 Museum located on the west (left) side of Gary Blvd. Monday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m."

My mother would have loved to visit the Yahn Museum. Y-A-AH-N ..Yahn.

Yeah, the people at K-Mart didn't understand her either until she spelled it out for them

Roadside America is a great site. We're renting a small (24') RV in August and hitting a bunch of goofy stops listed in Roadside America. Actual destination is Lake of the Ozarks in MO, then a couple of Twins/Royals games in Kansas City.

At a retirement ceremony recently a Naval officer said that his mother warned him that he will in his career be stationed is some of the worst weather locations in the world, including the northern reaches of Alaska and the tip of Antarctica and the that he sould marry a woman from Kansas because not matter how bad the weather may be in the far parts of the earth a woman from Kansas has seen worse.

Well..... those Kansas tornadoes wreak havoc with yappy mutts such as Toto.

Too bad a 2x4 propelled at 250 mph didn't hit that yappy critter right in the head.

Splat.
