Suggestions - Mazdaspeed 3 First Oil Change

Another MS3 owner here. I'm at 1200 miles right now. On the fence whether I should chnage now or wait until 3K.
I would definately change the oil given the evidence of fuel dilution with the DI system and breaking in. Regarding that issue, does anyone think that the rings in DI engines might take a lot longer to seat/wear-in, due to the constant "wetting" of the cylinder walls from the high pressure injectors?
Internals will take alot longer IMO to get comfy. It was my understanding that the INITIAL seating of the rings occurs quite quickly relative to other changes that can occur during the early driving phases. We have chrome rings, which would indicate that they'll seat pretty quick.
Swapping out the factory fill on Wed and doing a used oil analysis with Terry. Will post results...

i little off topic but i received my recall notice today for the #4 motor mount. im coming up on my second oil change in a few weeks - going with chevron supreme again.
Got the same notice...going in to take care of it (even though I checked it 1000+ miles ago...LOL). I haven't decided as to what oil as of yet. Maybe PP...we'll see. TBH, I don't have the knowledge base to make a totally informed decision as of yet. used oil analysis will help I'm sure.
ive always ran conventional in my new cars for the first 5k or so, my brothers advice and ive always adhered to it and its always been good to me. on another side note im about 2200 miles into this run of chevron and the level on the dipstick hasn't wavered. i have 18 qts each of pp, valvoline and havoline synthetics waiting in the garage for the odo to turn over 5k, ill probably be running the havoline first.
Everone that believes they know more than what the factory recommends is a dunce IMO! where do you get the idea that the people on this forum have a vast scientific knowledge beyond the many hours of dyno testing done by Mazda. To the individual who believes that the MazdaSPEED 3 engine, built in Japan, uses MC as factory fill, please explain why Mazda would import to Japan , a motor oil made in USA! FOLLOW THE FACTORY GUIDELINES and enjoy your new Mazda. A satisfied owner now on my 5TH mazda.
I'll be changing out the factory oil at ~ 2,500 miles and again at ~ 6,000 miles with a used oil analysis. I'll determine from the used oil analysis what is best for my driving situation.

To your valid point: The factory fill is a blend that is as close to MC that Mazda can get to in Japan (according to somebody at Mazda corp here in California - they tell people here in the US that Mazda uses MC as I've found out). This is really just conjecture IMO. Mazdas are filled with a Chinese manufactured blend (made by Petro-GoldenMaple - LTD...look them up if you want...they were just approved by the API last year). To that I stand corrected. Good day sir.

Another MS3 owner here, with 500 miles on the clock. I'm looking at going with a 2.5K-3K change, another at 5K(along with a switch to synthetic), and then every 5K thereafter. My selling dealer provides free 5K oil changes so I'll only be out the cost of the synthetic oil.
2oldtommy, good pts in your post, but there is that concern that the OEM might be doing a balancing act of looking out for the engine and not making the car a high maint. endeavor. I can't say for sure that OEMs fold to this pressure (of looking low maint.), but many here are skeptical that they might be just a bit.
