Other then spending $8 each at the dealer, are any of those kits on Amazon very good? Most have Chinese names and I would rather avoid those made in China.

It's cheap insurance to replace them on a flat/unknown system, but I don't want to make it worse than it was when I started
Ford is weird, some models they cite serviceable cores, others with the same core they want to sell you the whole line

AFtermarket cores suck. I got tired of warrantying leaking aftermarket cores so I switched to OE. GM is mostly 52458184 and 3041827, Most asian stuff is Toyota 88374-30010 and Ford is yf2448 and yf3290. Between those 5 cores I have better than 90 percent coverage
The santech brand never gave me trouble
I can get this Santech for $9
We had a lot of issues with Santech in the last 5 years, mostly the GM primary seal high side

Anything I’ve recored has been the same, but obviously that’s not the rule. If you have a specific application, look at the parts diagram.
Parts diagram doesn't show them separate. Probably only sold with the line. Bought those Toyota cores and they fit perfect. Now I find the compressor has a huge leak from the shaft behind the clutch so dealing with that next.

That core fits most asian vehicles, its a JRA core (Japanese refrigeration association). Most asian manufacturers only sell the cores with the lines, I found that toyota number once but I have no clue where I found it.
thats the one, 52458184 is comparably priced.
