Suggest an oil for me

I have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 6.0L and now have 217,000 miles on it.
I make a lot of highway runs back and forth from Florida to Georgia (every other weekend during hunting season)
I do some towing and a lot of stop & go driving around the city.
With the high milage and type of use, what would you recomned?

I've noticed some oil usage lately.. so i'm thinking of stepping it up to a 40w.. maybe the Rotella 15w40 ?????

I think maybe the 0-40 mobile would be better then the 15-40. How much oil is it using?

I have not kept tract of how much and such. Seems to be about a quart every 5,000 miles or maybe a quart between oil changes

1 quart per 5000 miles is not a problem.

yup 1qt in 5k isn't anything to worry about at all

Any High Mileage oil has a good chance of slowing down your oil consumption.
Valvoline Maxlife in the 10w30 flavor would be my recommendation.

Like Super Dave said, consider a high mileage branded oil.
No real need to go thicker at this point.

Any high mileage 10w30 should do just fine for you, you're in the ideal conditions for that oil.

You DON'T have a oil consumption problem.

Just use a normal 5w30 oil and you'll be fine. No NEED for a High Mileage oil.

217,000 miles PROVES that.
