Subaru CVTF-III anything special?

Is Subaru CVTF-III anything special or is it an update on their CVTF-II? I may be doing a spill and fill on a 2021 Forester and may be staring at using aftermarket fluid if the dealer isn’t open.

Valvoline claims their CVTF meets all the Subaru specs, but MaxLife doesn’t list CVTF-III. Castrol also doesn’t list CVTF-III for Transmax Universal.

If i service trans in my Forester ill only use Subaru oil .Anything they can use to void warranty so

The good news is that Subaru actually sells the blue CVTF-III in quart bottles

Yea, I told her to go to the dealer for a spill and fill. Not gambling. I’ll have her check back in at 120K if she still has it.

This ain’t a Toyota or Lexus here.
