It's just how some people live.
When I was going to tech school, I had a couple of low-lifers in my glass that existed on other people's money. It didn't matter if it was food, clothing or auto parts, one way or another, somebody else paid for it.
Here's how brazen they were: One day their car needed a battery. So they went out that night and stole one from a parked car on the street. Now here's the real kicker: The next night, they went to the exact same car and again stole the brand new battery that the owner had to purchase for his car that day. The original stolen battery wasn't good enough for them, so they had to steal the replacement!

This too was on my collected list of really unique thieving techniques. I found it so ingenious. A local critter told me this when I was a midnight gas jockey. I was getting a new battery and he asked, "Just steal your neighbors. He'll go get a new battery ..and you steal that too".

We had a true nasty gang of thieves called the Johnston brothers. They made a movie out of it with Christopher Walken and the Penn brothers. At Close Range. I'm still close friends with one of the troopers that was trying to nail them for YEARS.

The Johnston brothers gang were just plane BOLD. They would see a piece of farm equipment or a backhoe along the road somewhere ...go and get a trailer and start loading it up. No one paid them any mind. They looked to be doing just what they were doing ..loading up a backhoe. They were invisible. All the troopers, except my buddy, kept trying to put themselves in their shoes. It just wouldn't work. They don't think like honest people.

I always wonder why you don't hear about more flatbed tow truck owners picking up whatever car they like that day. Who would question that? Maybe they get away with it.

A few years ago I locked my keys in my Jeep in a Home Depot parking lot. When I called the locksmith, he asked "which one?" and I just pointed to it. He went and unlocked it for me, no questions asked! Paid $50 in cash...

Are you sure that wasn't someone else's car that just looked a lot like your car?

Actually they were too big and scratched the corner of my hood.

I agree, also my wipers have NEVER frozen to the windshield and I leave them down all the time.

I'm just tired of leaving my wipers down and ice builds up on the blades; even snapping the blades to get the ice off, the wipers ineffectively wipes and hinders my sight.

Doesn't make it right.

Being poor and needing to steal food so as to survive/feed kids, I can understand. I may disagree with it and would likely be a bit put out if it was my food that was stolen, but I can understand it.

Stealing wiper blades? There's no reason for that. Not only are wiper blades cheap (ok, maybe not the Icons, but generally wipers are cheap), but they're rarely critical to the operation of one's car. Even if they're smeary and chattery, they can get the job done well enough. That's just messed up.

Just because a person is poor, doesn't mean they have to steal. We live in America and there are so many resources to get help. Stealing is just bad, period. My friend was homeless for 6 months and he used the tools to get him back on his feet.
