STUPID new Coke fountain

Personally i like 'em the only one in my town is @ 5 guys, but the AMC's down In Columbus installed them sometime last year.

i was wondering if anyone would point out the Pininfarina Design.

Actually, no. All soda fountains new and old in restaurants and convenience stores are leased by the restaurant and the syrup is provided free of charge by the soda company. This is why they can afford to give free refills.


+1 also I would like to mention iv only been to one place where the only fountain was behind the counter and that happened to be a Wendy's.


Around here, most Wendy's that DON'T have the Coke Freestyle machines usually have the drinks behind the counter...only a couple have the "regular" self-serve fountains.
 
I agree all the favors are pretty cool. I don't like it that only one person at a time can use the machine.

This may be fine in a chicken joint, but a busy operation like Burger King should have two or even three machines. I say this because the BK in my little town only has one...
 
HaHa last year i used one or tried to use one i was lucky there was a little kid behind me that showed me how to use it.He was about 7 my wife still laughs at that one
 
Hello, I love what I've learned about leasing soda machines and distributing free syrup.
The traffic considerations are extremely interesting. Too bad an elf wasn't posted at any new machine to put a pretty face on the restaurant.
My two cents says these huge (relatively speaking) machines are just ill /over designed and were likely designed for some other setting.
The fountain machines went into production, they were cheap to replicate. They didn't break so they were sent into the market wherever they fit.

More importantly, a BITOGer said, "...after my second or third time using one I noticed all the drinks tasted similar. The flavors tasted mixed and I also started noticing a lot of the new options where always out. Seems like 2/3 the time what ever I want is out".

These machines dispense poison carp, not food. Get smart. Don't you walk away from bad food?
Walk away from poison colored soda. It's just bad chemicals.

Don't say, "I'm an American, I drink this stuff...I have to...". Fight back! Don't buy their garbage. Support local restaurants. Kira
 
The most important thing to me is is it made with real sugar or
that horrible high fructose corn syrup. I hate HFCS and contrary to what the HFCS industry wants to have you think you CAN tell the difference between a coke made with real sugar and one made with HFCS.
 
I rarely drink soda, but I did SE these at a few restaurants. I tried it at five guys once, with a number of different flavors, sampling a little bit of each. No issues. I don't recall ice being an issue either. Maybe there's a newer variant of the machine that isn't as good?
 
I don't drink soda, but I also noticed 2/3 of the sodas were not available at a BK in Orlando. People were complaining about flavors not available.

I remember when I was a kid,no place gave you soda refills. Only way to get drink refills was to get iced tea. Maybe that's why I never drank soda as a kid,my parents didn't want to have to pay for refills haha.

If you read the wiki on the freestyle machine it says the machines are leased out at $500 a month which is probably why they don't have more than one in locations that aren't that busy. They make money on the soda, I don't think the syrup is actually free as part of the lease, there's not that many machines out there to translate into $46 billion in revenue in 2013. And that's basically the business Coke is in, selling syrup. They don't make all those commercials by giving away free syrup and those $2+ drinks at Five Guys, some of that money does go to Coca-Cola.

This post speaks volumes about your eating health. Soda pop? Wendy's and Burger King?

The only thing stupid about them is the people lined up in the false food joints guzzling the garbage that comes out of them.
 
Yeah, and the people that get so worked up over it that they resort to calling those who disagree "stupid".

His post was about the obnoxious new Coke machines. However as usual. some people just can't help themselves and must post their opinions about dietary habits, even when not asked about it. Typical.

There are a lot of these machines around here, and more arriving all the time. Starting to see Pepsi machines appear too. Yes, folks who haven't seen one before can be put off. Once you figure them out, they work fine.

Flavors being out is a local store management problem - not a machine problem. One local BK seems to always be out of a flavor or two. Other locations are virtually never out, and if they are, its changed out quickly.

As for me, I appreciate being able to get diet and caffiene free flavors I am not able to get at most traditional setups. Code Red Diet Mellow Yellow (Cherry Mellow Yellow) is my guilty pleasure, with a Grape Sprite Zero coming up next...

Don't really drink soda any more, but if I see a place with these, I'm ordering. Coke Freestyle has been around the IL for a few years. Way better than the standard 5-6 choices you used to get.

People that can't figure these out are the same people that take 5 minutes to take $20 out of the ATM. There's no help for them.

You obviously don't know Pop. Just think... he is/was an elected official in some God-forsaken place. Imagine that guy, the one who made the post, handling your official affairs.
