Stuff settled at bottom of bottle

After emptying out quarts of Pennzoil Platinum, I noticed a trace of 'stuff' that had settled to the bottom of the bottle.
Just curious if the 'stuff' may be part of the add chemistry?
And if it is, would it be wise to shake the bottles up before pouring to put the 'stuff' back into suspension?
Or is it contaminants that are better left at the bottom of the bottle?

I've noticed that on a bottle of SLOB as well; I added a little oil back and sloshed it around to get it loose.
I haven't thought to check that before this last oil change; I will from now on.

most likley some VII or dispersant would not worry about it over time some "stuff" will fall out nowdays with the "dry" base oils used solubility is sometimes borderline.

the amount in bottle should not alter chemistry shake it in or leave it no issues.

Could be all the vitamins and minerals....the good stuff

I checked some QSWB 5w30 sediment under microscope, and it was made of various sized particles, in three or four different colours.

I've noticed the same thing in various brands of oil lately. Think it's part of the add pack. Maybe your oil filter will take it out

99% of what you can see in lubricant formulations is dye falling out of suspension. The other 1% is contamination or poorly blended product.

That was after shaking the jug. I think this is how GTX prevents sludge buildup. They have found a way for the sludge to form before it ever gets into the engine.

The quarts of GTX I used were clean as can be (I checked). I wonder if the bottling facility is the culprit here.

Of course with bruce giving it the OK I can live with it. Cheers all!

Disagree most all major products do not dye anything in fact the trend is towards Clear products of light color.

Also some moly and boron additves have somewhat marginal soulbility but a trace ia "normal"

Warlord...I have seen that picture personally many times...It comes from storing oil for long periods , and is probably the additives settling out...I shake the oil for a few minutes upside down, while having a cold beer, before pouring ...kind of like an ohange ritual....just make sure nobody is watching..ps- the GTX is great dino, but a litle pricey
