Hello,

How often they should be replaced ... ?

Car Mazda 3 10000Km on it ... ( ride quality isn't as good as before handling too)

Should I bee looking at replacing those ...

What are the brands that are recommended ...

Hey Bud,

They wear much faster up here due to the harsh weather and road salts up here... But it depends on the vehicle and the quality of them. In my old Caravan It drove to the scrap yard 20 years later with 400,000KM on only it's second set of shocks...

"To keep a car running forever, you need to keep it running forever" Don't use it, and it will wither away.

With only 10k km on it (unless that's a typo?) I'd think if the struts aren't like new then either they've been very abused or they were defective from the factory. I have very limited experience on this topic, however.

You sure the car actually rides and handles differently from when it was new?

EDIT: Just an idea, but if the ride has gotten worse with such low mileage, is it possible it's because of tire wear instead of suspension wear? That seems more likely to me.

sorry it should say 100Km

Hi StevieC.

Lucky you ... Blah are roads in Hamilton are in great shape :D

10k is like wha, 6k miles? Id say youre dealing more with an issue of tire pressure or something else.

Has anyone else driven the vehicle? SOMETHING IS WRONG...

No that's when I lived in Mississauga, that's why I drove a car. Now that I live in Binbrook and have to drive on Terrible Hamilton roads I bought an SUV! hehehe

phew.

For lousy roads and cheap shocks, that could very well be right.

Our corolla's shocks went bad at about that point. My MIL's camry has 75k and has been due for about 10k.

Thats right :)

At 60k in pothole city it's not too early to check everything out... rubber bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, strut mounting plates, wheel bearings...

Are you getting any clunks or is it just bouncy and wallowy?

I should mention that a car that has been rust-proofed with a product like Krown keeps the shocks in very good shape as well as all the rubber bushings etc. I have never replaced any rubber on any cars that I have owned treated with Krown. It's a small price to pay for what you get in return... Just thought I would mention it
