Most people just cut off the away bar links and replace them. The stock sway bar links have a stupid hex key that rusts and strips when it's time to remove it for strut replacement, but many aftermarket links have a wrench flat that makes it easier.
Since the struts had already been replaced at least once before, whoever did it last must've installed new end links. At least the Camry has a folding back seat; the ES300 doesn't.
