Strut mount issue

l had one squeaking on a factory sealed ball joint on a dodge colt. Sprayed it with WD-40 never heard from it again.

I did put a squirt of rust check into the boot and it quieted right down while I waited for a replacement, but it also had an 1/8" of play, so I figured I'd replace it.

Noise go away?

Yep. That steel cup spinning on top of that rubber insulator was noisy. Glad that's resolved.
