Strange feeling....

Since friday, I've felt... Off. I've been having minor headaches, and lower back pain (due to moving a desk improperly) but also I've been feeling odd. When I move, turn my head, stand up, or walk around, I feel like Dizzy. Like a combination of dizzy, lightheadedness, and I feel off balance, though I've never fallen or gotten sick. I haven't had the opportunity to go to the doctor yet, but do any of you have any experience with this?

I'm not on any medications (unless you count tylenol for back pain and occasional headache). I don't really display any symptoms of a cold or the flu. The feeling goes away if I'm sitting looking ahead for long periods of time (such as driving) but sitting here, if I tilt, or turn my head the feeling returns instantly. I'm sort of between doctors right now (switching finally from family pediatrician to primary care doctor. I've also sort of been under a lot of stress lately for various reasons, and anxious... Maybe this has something to do with it?
 
High blood pressure from stress.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about - unfortunately, I have it a lot.

I've confirmed with store machines that my bloodpressure is on the borderline between normal and high, so I'm sure that's what it is.
 
I just had my blood pressure checked 2 months ago- it's always been great. About 110/65 or something like that. I'm going to have my mom try to get me an appointment with her PCD. I'm worried about ALS and things like that. I suppose it's possible my BP has gone up, but it's always been very good for my age.

Doubt it because I'm th only one who experiences it out of 5 people in the house.
 
Your a young guy,guessing at anything is taboo.It could be nothing at all just stress as you say but only your doctor should be diagnosing.
Go and see him ASAP if symptoms don't go away on soon.

Please don't take any meds over the counter or otherwise for anything guessed on an internet forum.

Edit good idea to check things like the furnace and any gas water heaters etc just for safety.

A car forum is a really bad place to seek medical advice. I would add "questionable judgment at times" to your list of symptoms when you see the doc

Your symptoms sound a lot like BPPV to me, AKA positional vertigo.

This would be pretty benign if you just had a recent head injury. There are some self-treatments that are pretty effective. I went though this after a pretty severe concussion last year.

Without any specific trauma causing this though?? I'd seriously recommend getting checked out by a doctor, since the underlying cause of the vertigo could be more serious. (I'd recommend getting checked out in the case of any head injury as well-but in this case you really don't know what's causing the problem, and you need to find that out first before taking care of the veritgo).
 
Nick- My daughter is an MD. She just left but I had her look at your thread. She thinks you may have pinched a nerve in your neck or back, or a serious inner ear infection. Elevated blood pressure would cause dizziness but not your other symptoms. She says get off BITOG and get to the doctor. She said that if you are in between drs, instead of waiting for an appt go to one of the many walk in clinics in your area. They usually charge $50.00 cash for a visit and the drs are good.

How odd she says that. I had forgotten, but week before last I slept wrong and had a pinched nerve in my arm/back. My left arm was stiff and weak for 2 days. But after it went away it slipped my mind. Tell your daughter thanks for me gwdriver. I was just posting on here for opinions. I'm going to try to get an appoitnment as soon as I can.
 
Sounds like it could be vertigo. I had it one time all of a sudden. Thought I was having a stroke. If I kept my head up and level, I was fine. Tilt it at all, and I was like on a merry go round. My doc sent me home and said to just take it easy for a day or so, and that did the trick. Have not had it since. It can be brought on by an inner ear infection, but I had no ear symptoms. One way then doc diagnosed it was to have me lie down and look straight up at the ceiling. Then move my eyes all the way to one side. When I did that, they would twitch.

But seriously, the OP should see a doctor. If the OP wants to diagnose this online, WebMD is a more suitable place.
