Finally using up my AZ STP filter/Quaker State conventional sale stuff...

Just changed out the second STP filter, off of two different cars. Ive noticed that the seal pops off very easy from a used one, much more than the QS/Proline/Purolators Im used to.

The filter worked just fine and did seal perfectly, just had the observation of the seal popping off the filter when pulled off. I still wouldnt hesitate to use STP again....

Anyone else noticed this, or is this a problem experienced in other brands???

It's not any kind of a problem, in any way, shape, or form. Unless of course YOU don't check to make sure the GASKET didn't stick to the filter mount, then it becomes a problem.

PETE!!! Where you been, pal?!! Good to see you're still with the quick ..so to speak

It seems like every SuperTech I use has that issue -- the gasket falls off VERY easily. Even brand new, I had one fall off on me before I even installed it onto the car. I thought it was a defect so I returned it and the next one did the same thing, turns out you can just push it back onto the filter and it'll still seal fine.

Some are an (almost) interference fit. Others are like "regiving birth" putting them back in. Others have dimples that appear to provide a bit of an obstacle to removal ..and others just sit there.
