Im not the biggest fan of Mobil 1 oils however with Pepboys latest coupon and my rewards, I can get 5qts plus Mobil 1 filter for $19.99. I can't resist! lol. I still have 15qts of Pennzoil Platinum 0W20 to use, however with that being said which 20 Weight Mobil 1 oil would you choose for a newer V6 Honda? Their AFE 0W20, Standard 5W20, or Extended Performance 5W20? Im thinking the Extended Performance might be the best bet for the VCM Honda V6 3.5. Your thoughts and opinions are always appreciated.

I'd use the 0W-20 myself. I've used it before in both of our cars, and will go back to it again once my current stash of Pennzoil is gone.
The EP oils are arguably the "stoutest". If the $19.99 special allows you to get the EP versions, I say go for it. Only way to know is to try it out.

That's funny.
"Stout" is a term the light oil adverse tend to throw around when they are basically fearful of stepping into the 20wt oil pool. The idea is to start at the thick end of the 20wt spectrum but still keep their fingers crossed that the engine won't blow up.
For the record, the "stoutest" 20wt oil is Red line 5W-20. It buts most 30wt oils to shame.

Caterham dont quite understand what you mean. I completely agree that Redline is tops as far as 20weights and is actually what i used to backup my factory fill oil. However since I dont tend to read up much on the Mobil 1 threads around here I was looking for a little help as far as a possibly a 'best value' in the Mobil 1 20 weights.

BTW I don't thick Red Line 5W-20 is tops at all, it's a very old formulation. Their more modern 0W-20 is a good oil with a decent VI but it's still really a light 30wt oil in reality. Red Line does not have a true 20wt oil it's line up.
You're already using Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 which is a fairly light oil, lighter than Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 which is a quality oil.
So if you have an Mobil coupon to use that's the oil to get.

To me "stout" refers to either a VERY high ppm content AW add pack (like the M1 High Mileage oil lineup in the Mobil brand), or a VERY high detergent/dispersant, high TBN retention, add pack (like the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil lineup in the Mobil brand, although some claim that EOM uses a different base stock type as well to give this stuff it's long drain capabilities), or BOTH as in many top-drawer 'boutique' oils.
As far as I'm concerned 'stout' has NOTHING to do with HTHSV, or KVs @40*C, or 100*C, although the amount of, and type/quality of VIIs, and how resistant they are to shearing, DOES have a bearing on an oil's "stoutness" (to ME at least).

Yes, and that stuff is QUITE "stout" as well, the ONLY way I'll waste my liver on alcohol containing beverages!
