I found a nos air filter for my Jeep online. It was delivered to my mailbox @1:30p. Was not there when I got there @ 5:20p.

Just my luck...

Been watching craigslist and market place. Nothing yet.

You might find your filter and the package ripped open a ways down the street.
Porch pirates in my area will just toss away what they don't deem an easy sale.
I send packages to an Amazon locker, the in-laws who are always home, my place of employment (before retirement) etc.

I commented on this same problem just last week.

Have not seen it as there is only 1 way out here

It was probably miss delivered to the wrong box. My address ends in 53 and I sometimes get mail and packages for 55 next door. The post office can tell you the location of the delivery scan if you call them. It could be redelivered to you in a few days. I ordered and item from the east coast and tracking showed it going to Puerto Rico. I figured it was gone. The next day it was on its way back to the U.S.

How does this work? Do you get your money back from Amazon if your package was stolen? The delivery people always take a picture after they deliver the item so do you have any recourse?

My mail box is a mile from home. The same mailman has been delivering to us for 20+ years .He knows who's box is who's.

The blue dot is my house. The circle is where the mailboxes are..Time to box up more cat turds to leave there.

Probably a hot looking porch pirate … 😷

I can't expect the seller to send another free..As far as I know they did their part. I gave them a positive rating but no rating on the product.

You live in a "Perfect" location to put up a couple of 6 ft black 2 ft wide 1/4 inch thick metal circles plates on a post, "25ft away" from the mailbox. Then get the Barrett 50 out to "send a move on message" to the next person grabbing your cat turd box. :)

To the thief, it was a package. I would bet once it was opened, the thief thought what am I going to do with this now.

Chris, in your rural location, can you make online purchases that are delivered by UPS or FedEx Ground instead of the package sitting in your mailbox? Your row of mailboxes makes for an easy target.

Why would they toss it when they could sell it? It has numbers on the box and any baboon can Google it.
It's not worth their time and effort either. What market is there for an item like that that they're going to list it online and wait days or weeks for a possible buyer to stumble across it. Watch FB and CL if you want.... It's your time.

I often don't have a choice. Sellers use what's cheapest...usually USPS...I have even asked for things to be sent other than USPS and it came USPS anyway.

Fed ex and Amazon are pretty bad. They often leave packages on the side of the road instead of of bringing them all the way.

It it a heavy duty locking mailbox, or just one someone can open and remove items? A row of unsecured mailboxes out in the middle of nowhere is a prime target for thieves driving by.
