Guys in the know.. I have the opportunity to buy a lightly used (10hrs) stihl fs40 trimmer 2015 model . I've already used it a couple times as the seller let me try it out. Runs great, starts great. They want $100 for it. A new one is $159.99+ tax. Is this a fair price on this unit?

Id offer 80. They loose half their value as soon as you drive them off the lot... Plus for 60 more you can get one with a fresh warranty.

I have an Echo srm225 and its a great unit, but its 200 new I believe. I have a stihl FS91 and its nice. I have never used the smaller units, but I held one and it felt great.

What is your primary use for the trimmer, just light trimming on a suburban lot? I have gotten to the point I need a straight shaft trimmer because the curved shafts kill my back.

Yes it is primarily just for trimming a small yard. Less than one acre in suburbia. I may shop around, my original intent was to buy a husky 128ld until I was offered this unit to try out. I like the trimmer, I just don't want to overpay for it.
