My Blazer needs tie rod ends, adjusting sleeves, and maybe an idler arm. Anyone have any brand recommendations?

Thinking either Mevotech or one of the AC Delco lines.

Thanks.

Depends on how long you plan to keep it. The Mevotech Supreme line is a good mid-level line. Many have grease fittings so install them with a good moly-grease and they should work fine. The economy line of Mevotech I would pass.

The Moog are also good for that vehicle but may cost more than you get out of them.

The Supreme line is not bad. I agree on their economy line though.

Had a neighbor install a Mevotech ball joint on his work van. It lasted about 2 days before the threads stripped out and the front passenger side of his van made a nice 6 foot trench in the asphalt in our neighborhood. He's lucky it didn't come apart on the freeway.

I've had good luck with Moog.

I installed Moog on my Jeep and the boots failed less than 3 months later. It's sad, but they just don't seem to be what they used to be. I will however pass on the Mevotech. Lol.

I don't believe OE is still available as that'd be the obvious choice. I'll do some digging.

I wish there was an FCP Euro equivalent store for my truck. OE and European built parts.. CHEAP.

Agreed, I'll pass on Mevotech and Moog economy line. However Moog is better than Mevotech.

OE or Moog Problem Solver if you plan on keeping it.

I installed a Chinesium MasterPro outer tie rod on the friend's Chevy, he did tell me not as sloppy as before but we'll see...

I am seeing about an $80 difference between the AC Delco Professional vs. Moog. As much as I don't want to spend the additional money, I think I'll go with the Professional as I know myself well enough to know I'll be "rather disgruntled" if they failed in less than a year after the alignment. I do plan on keeping the truck for some time.

I am planning on replacing the control arms too. AC Delco Professional being somewhat cheaper anyways. Also, with replacing the control arms comes new cam bolts, which both were nearly identical in price.

Aside from the bottom bolts breaking, which I am sure they will, I'll have no worries whatsoever.

I won't touch anything AC Delco unless I have to. Most of their stuff seems to be junk since at least 5 years ago. Not sure about front end stuff but alternators, starters, wheel bearings, etc.

The original starter failed on my caprice this winter and I needed one asap. Our company only had Ac Delco in the warehouse and I didn't have time to remove mine and have it rebuilt locally. The new AC Delco failed after a week and I had to replace it in the driveway in -20 celsius. Not fun at all.

I have been trying ProForged on a few vehicles, the quality seems very good with a good fit and finish, the E coating is excellent. Moog problem solvers are okay, not what they were but not horrible, Mevotech is scrap metal.

I prefer Raybestos but since they have shut down along with Affinia you're lucky if you can find old stock. NAPA and ACDelco are rebranded Raybestos parts and have changed suppliers since the shutdown.

Their Original Equipment line is great, Though I doubt they have anything OE for your 80's sedans.

I have a PERMANENT solution for SBC Starter issues if your interested?

Heck, I'll give them a try and report back. $5 overall price difference between these and Moog and certainly cheaper than Moog.

The adjusting sleeves are billet aluminum and $50 a pair though. I'll stick with AC Delco Professional. Lol.

*Ended up ordering the ProForge tie rod ends and idler arm. Everything else mentioned above was AC Delco Professional.

No longer pushing the Deeza brand? I tried them once and was disappointed and never looked back.

@Kruse, I think Deeza completely stopped selling aftermarket parts under their own name in the US

Deeza was an aftermarket effort by Turkish company Disa Automotive. They do supply OE parts to most major car companies. They serve OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2.

In fact, if you go to their old site deezachassis.com it redirects to the Disa site disaautomotive.com

Even though Deeza no longer exists, you may still be using their parts. Practically any tie rod, control arm, ball joint, or sway bar link where the box says "made in Turkey" is/was probably made by Disa. Here is their catalog

This Delphi tie rod is listed as being made in Turkey and is definitely Disa.

I did use Deeza sway bar links when I needed to cut the old ones off my strut, and I was satisfied with them. They were made in Turkey and slightly beefier than the original parts.

Pushing? Disa/Deeza makes good parts but when they started having issues in the USA due to reboxing offshore parts for more market coverage I stopped using them or recommending them for US domestics and Japanese cars. Whats your problem with that?

Sorry to hit a nerve. Yes, you were pushing. I tried them too, except all of the Deeza parts that I got were made everywhere but Turkey.
No problem at all, just pointing out that it's hard to make a recommendation with aftermarket parts anymore.
