Starter motor Carbon Brush Assembly question

Which is positive and negative on the connection pointed with yellow arrows. I don't see any + and - mark. I need to solder a new assembly. Thanks for the help

It is a four-pole motor. There are two sections in parallel. Two of the brushes are live and the other two are grounded. It is only going to go together one way, so take pictures and put the new brushes on the same way like @JohnnyG said.
 
An alternator produces alternating current (ac). Diodes convert the ac into direct current (DC). Polarity doesn't exist with ac.
