I have been waffling on this issue for some time and have an SS filter but am currently using paper on my Sportster, so much for saving money

Do you feel that roller engines are more tolerant of "dirt". How big a factor in selecting an oil filter is this?
Sorry for the hijack but this may be relevant in filter selection.
 
Sorry I haven't commented been busy as of late !

Cost effective ? It will be payed for end of this season . I have been riding around 10,000 miles a season . This season will be low since we had a hard winter ..

From what I read paper filters down to 35 micron at the small end of the tolerance. Were this is 35 flat . I think that is the correct number.

I was thinking better constant oil flow rate .
Guess maybe I will explore some more . It's a pretty fine mesh to let a sliver of steal thru but anything is possible .

As far as maintenance .......I'm there anyway ...
