From my mothers 2018 Rav4 2arfe with 80k.

The duration was 5k via factory maintenance minder give or take hundred or so miles.

Looks great was all straight before I forced the pleats open to gander. Wicked for 3 days.

Another ST9972 went on and a 30/70 mix of VRP 0w20 and Total Ineo 5W30 (I thought my VRP jug was full)

@malibuguy79, I purchased several st9972 and the media looked different on these new filters. One had a silky smooth white media surface and others had a cottony puffy white media surface. What did ur new filter look like?

99% sure it was smooth. I have 2 more I bought at the same time, I can check those tomorrow.

I am very surprised how dark the edges got.
I wrapped my filter for 18 days. Bone dry.
This is an OEM Toyota oil filter on 4K mi using HPL 5w-30. I swapped in a st9972 and will run it for 6k mi. I am curious if I will get the dark edges too.

No holes and no dark carbon edges.
It does not appear to be filled with microscopic carbon debris.

@malibuguy79 why are edges so dark? Carbon? I am about to post my st9972 and looks very similar It is a 6k filter on HPL 5w-30 euro with VII. The earlier Toyota at 4k showed no dark edges. This is 9.5k OCI with two filter changes.

I think its due to only wicking for a few days as its the last point of contact
