I realize this is short notice but I was at the autoparts store today and saw the following ads for motorcycle oil:

Advance has Mobil-1 4T for $7.99 a quart.
AutoZone has Castrol or Valvoline motorcycle oil for $2.99/qt.
O'Reilly has Castrol Synthetic 4T for $7.99 and Mobil-1 4T for $8.99.

O'Reilly matched the $7.99 on the Mobil-1 which saved some driving around and that deal on motorcycle dino oil is great at Autozone too.

Just a FYI for my two-wheeled brethren.

Thanks, although my bike is not getting any of this fancy stuff.

And although the price of Castrol and Valvoline mineral is pretty good, it's about the same as everyday price on Rotella T 15w40 which is suitable for wet clutches and proven to be a good performer in this application.

Have you bought that Concours yet?

haha,, I actually bought a 2012 ZX-14R. It's funny how those things work out. I was considering the Suzuki GSX-1250FA which is a fantastic bike. However, the dealer snoozed long enough in October for Kawasaki to release their new 200 horsepower ZX-14R.

I ordered a green one and took deliver on groundhogs day, 2012.

The bike is fantastic. It certainly commands the riders respect. But I'm old and slow so I just enjoy the effortless performance in a sensible manner. I'm installing a centerstand and going to install the European rear grab handle and a set of bungee hooks that fit under the seat to attach a bungee cord or net to. It's lacking in this type of usability but it's easily remedied. The bike came with a seat cowl but I removed it so my wife could sit back there on the occasion that she rides the neighborhood with me.

Sorry about the pictures. Of course I've taken a ton. I got the bike in the box so I took pics of it being uncrated and assembled and even took pics of the initial oil change at 400 miles. I saved the oil filter and took it apart. It's simply amazing at the amount of garbage these engines produce when new.

But, I've never learned how to post pics on this forum so I gave up years ago.

COOL!!! I want to get some Valvoline 4-stroke 20w-50 MC oil for the engine in the Buell & some Mobil 1 4T 20w-50 MC oil for the primary/chaincase; I have both an autozone & advance auto parts @ 2 miles from the house; I was just at AAP yesterday getting some clearance Castrol GTX Syn-Blend 10w-40 for the scooter @ $3.95/qt...wonder how I missed the Mobil 1

The Valvoline dino oil is at Autozone. There should have been a sign hanging on the motorcycle oil at Advance.

Autozone also has a sale for Mobil-1 motorcycle oil but it involves 4 quarts of oil and a fram filter for $40. I didn't mention it previously but it was in their newspaper flyer.

The Advance sale might end on the 28th if you're interested in the Mobil-1.

glad I saw this post...returned all the oil I recently bought for the motorcycle & scooter (minus the stuff I ordered from Motorcycle Superstore & open bottle of H-D Syn 3); at AutoZone I got 8 quarts of Valvoline 4-stroke 20w-50 MC oil (for the buell engine) & 4 quarts of Valvoline 4-stroke 10w-40 MC oil (for the scooter) for $3/qt; at Advanced Auto Parts I got 2 quarts of Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 synthetic MC oil (for the buell primary/chaincase) f0r 8/qt; basically enough for 4 oil changes on both machines &2 extended interval tranny changes on the buell; I am one very happy camper...now to start stocking up on oil filters
