Spring Detail

Had a beautiful day Saturday, so I spent it outside giving the Audi a little TLC. Here is what I did:

Wash with Turtle Wax Ice Gel
Dried with Chemical Guys microfiber towel
Clayed with Meguiar's clay and Quick Detailer
Polish with HF DA, Meguiar's Ultimate Polish and a Lake Country black pad
Applied Einzett Glanz Wax with the DA and Chemical Guys black pad
Turtle Wax Ice liquid on the black trim.
Wheels cleaned with Griot's Wheel cleaner then Meguiar's Ultimate Wax
Tires cleaned with Wesley's then treated with Griot's Rubber and Vinyl protectant
Headlights and taillights with Meguiar's protectant.

I am pleased with the results. All the pain holograms and swirls are gone!

Just a side note:
This was the first time I had used Einzett Glanz Wax. It is a hybrid wax, using both carnuba and synthetic sealants. My impressions:

Application
It went on easy with the DA. Even though it is a thin liquid and a hair on the "runny" side, it didn't go as far as I thought it would. I found myself reapplying the pad more often than I anticipated. That being said, it went on smooth and thin.

Removal
The wax buffed off fairly easily. There were a couple of spots where I got the wax a little heavy and I had to work a little harder to get it off, but it wasn't bad. It didn't dust at all, which was nice.

Trim
I taped off the black trim and gaskets just in case, but in the few areas I got a little splatter on the black stuff I didn't notice any staining, although I didn't let it sit for an extended period of time.

Look
It left a nice, glass smooth finish. The reflections looked great.However, there was a lack of "pop" from the colors in the reflections. The general presentation is a little bit more of a synthetic sealant than a warm wax.

Beading
It rained 2 days after the wax application. There was water beading present, but it was truly not amazing. I have seen more hydrophobic products that give a better beading presentation.

Longevity
This is the first time I have used this product, so I have no clue! I will update this thread in a month or two and let you know.

I used it years ago. It was ho hum - no real standouts. Chemical smell.

Yeah, it didn't smell too great. So far I'm not super impressed. We'll see how it holds up over time.

Very niceely done. That wax will hold up longer than you expect it to providing the surface was properly prepped.
