Spirit Airlines and JetBlue planes struck by gunfire in Haiti

Haiti today is very similar to Somalia in 1992.

Do NOT send and of our military to police this war torn 3rd world country.

I will tell you right now if you don't already know this- We have military in parts of the world that are not widely known to the general public. My Son was stationed in South East Syria. You would be surprise as to what he was doing.
If we did send troops to Haiti-those thugs are no match for our Marines.

Yes I’m aware Americans in lesser known countries and keeping low profile.

What was your son doing in Syria ?

During that low altitude, 360 on final, we traveled through the rising smoke from tire-fires, watched people battle each other on the ground, saw bodies in the street amongst the rubble and more. It was surreal. To the best of my knowledge, we were not shot at.
That is absolutely insane! Like something out of a movie.

An AA plane was also hit Monday.
Our country needs everything, so let's fire rifles at airliners carrying people with money to leave in our country and to bring us aid?
Crazy.
Nobody is flying to Haiti at the moment for a vacation, only to bring relief to this long afflicted country.

Should have stopped all flights after just one aircraft shot at.

'Most' being the key word. My wife went to PR with 3 other females before we were married and they were told not to venture into certain areas.....but the same can be said for most large American cities.
I felt safer in San Juan than I do in Chicago.

True. I live an hour north of Manhattan and I'll go almost anywhere in PR but I avoid most of NYC since the riots.

Indeed, I think most common folks would be surprised how fast we can halo jump a seal team from San Diego to a destroyer off the coast of yemen. However, let Haiti deal with themselves. There's absolutely no need to risk any American lives for Haiti, it will just become another bullcrud op that gets hung up by politicians like Mogadishu.

People forget just how far humanity will go when they have nothing to lose, nothing to live for, and backs are to the wall.
