Speedway 5w20

I was standing in line at a Speedway station and grabbed a quart of their 5w20 oil. Said API SM, but it didn't mention anything about being a syn-blend or anything. Just curious, aren't 5w20's a syn blend? or am I just thinking 0w20?

$3.19 at the gas station does not seem that bad of a price considering the BP oil at the station by my house is $6.something a quart.

5W-20 can be conventional, synblend, or syn. What you got there is conventional. 0W-20 only comes in synblend and syn.

Why not go with a 0w30 or 0w40 if you're curious about the base stock? Then you'll really know that you're getting a synthetic.
