Do you think the wires really need to be changed at 40 or 50k miles? Do they go bad that fast?

Hi

I would like to know what is the best way to change the 3 rear spark plugs on my 2001 Chev. venture 3.4l v-6. Should I use Ac delco or another brand?

Thanks

ONLY use AC Delco platinums and DO NOT install the Bosch Platinum pieces of junk or the +4's.

Marketed junk.

Ac Delco Platinum for GM vehicles only.

GM used to recommend plug wire replacement @ 60,000 miles. Don't know if they still do but that wasn't too long ago (for my 1996 S-10). I think the reason is a bad wire can short out a coil and the coils are pretty expensive. BTW I worked on a friends 1988 Grand Am with the 2.5 four cyl. engine and changed the original sparkplugs at 91,000 miles because the car was running pretty crappy. Those were the old 30,000 mile plugs too. I thought that was pretty amazing that a regular ACDelco plug could last that long.
