Spark plug change on the Tiguan

As it states and from what I gathered they should have been replace at 80k miles but at 114k miles they looked pretty good. The gap did widen up compared to new but the car ran fine. I also did the front brakes for the first time as well. Nothing really special there other than one side worn more than the other. The factory fronts lasted this long only because the rears were already replaced once since VW loves rear brake bias. I think the car has just over 90k when the rears were done.

I couldn't swallow $14 per plug for NGK's from RockAuto so the cheaper $8 Bosch's went in.

Not seriously hateful for that mileage, though the "pad" on the ground strap has nearly eroded away and caused that widening gap. Center electrode looks good still. Bosches in the dubs for me have been a crapshoot so have used NGKs exclusively for the past several cars. I get them from FCP and the first set on the Tiguan were ~$15 each. Next ones will be "free" 😁.

Those look good at 114k. You got your use out of them. Splurge. That engine is running well and deserves it.
