in my 1991 honda accord i have soo many air bubbles in the resavor of the power steering unit.

i attempted to drain some and then fill it, no luck, tried to bleed it by going almost full turns back and forth and just recently picked up some lucaus power steering stuff.

i get a whaling sound at hard turns when the car really turns, and none of this happend before auto rx. now please, im not blamming auto rx for nothing, im just simply stating my delema here. dont take it that way, really please =) hehe.

well im stumped. i only have problems steering and whaling once in a while. when its cold for the first 30 minutes of driving when i make really really really hard turns. or turnning and i hit a bump.

help me.

well before the fluid in the container was kinda dark brown, never can really see through it, now with lucaus its like transparent red.

humm maybe it will do something that will amaze me?

i been filling and filling my resavor for the last few days, and i used about 3/4 of the bottle. but today its super over filled....it over flowed when i started it.?

what happend?

When you started the car the PS pump pumped fluid up into the reservoir. The tanks are designed to stop the fluid going over the top if the are filled to the correct level. Pull one of the hoses and drain to correct level. Or just drain it all and refill to correct level.

ok i drained it and filled it, but just psyphened it...

thanks by the way.

now my stering isnt as smooth any more. its kinda harder to steer when i do quick turns from a dead stop.

i get that yucky whaling sound as well..and still get massive air bubbles.

i have no leaks though??!

im soo puzzled

should i start replacing the fluid with honda fluid?

Use Honda fluid mofo, lol. But seriously, the Honda PS pumps are picky and maybe a 91 is picky too. Walmart has 3rd party honda compatible PS fluid.

ARGH.!!!

i wish i never put auto rx in there. i guess i will do a million drain and fills with honda power steering fluid.

it seems that the lucaus doesnt help, my stering is incredably slow in low speed turns...and i hear that whale sound more often.

when i start it the resavor goes down to the bottom, then goes right back up later...with mainly bubbles..but when the car is off the level is normal...

its irritating, everytime i add it it rejects it.

I don't think the ARX is the problem but from what I've read here Hondas more often than not need Honda PS fluid. You can still use the ARX with the Honda fluid as far as I know. Ask Frank.

im not super blamming auto rx for my problem. the problem occured after when i flushed it out.

i wish i can go to the pump on the rack and just open it there and drain the system from there.

ill check that, i remember taking that hose off during the flush.

this morning my steering sucked big time...no steering..kept jerkin...but once the fluid warmed up after a trip it was fine.

haha guys check this out. i been tackling a oil leak and got my camshaft seals replaced etc...but there was always another leak

today we found it it was pouring from the power steering pump. so gosh! hahahhaha

im not sure, but its not the hose. it came out the back of the power steering, not even a hose...its the oddest thing. its on the bracket i bet an internal leak that cracked or something.

we will see in a few hours

When I flushed the PS system on my Camaro and then refilled it, the oil was full of bubbles as well. The pump was groaning a lot. I just let it sit overnight. The next morning the bubbles were mostly gone and the level dropped a bit. I topped it off again and took it for a short drive. The pump was a lot quieter. Again, after another overnight sit, the last of the bubbles have disappeared, and I needed to top it off again. Now it's back to normal, but with fresh fluid. No more bubbles. You just have to let it sit so they can slowly work themselves out. It may take a couple overnights.

thanks for the tips, but mine didnt fix itself in the 6 months it had the problem.

well guys as it turns out it was the power steering pump. the seals inside ruptured, probably cause i accidently starved the pump just for a bit by accident.

rebuilt it and now its all good...no bubbles period and the HUGEST best steering i have now!

thanks for all the help.
