Some things I'll never understand

I just thank vegans on campus for leaving more meat for the rest of us (they don't like that).

I've had Ham Flavored Chicken! But not the other way around

I have seen this at the Chinese food store and laughed as well. We go there because no one can touch their prices on basmati rice, and its the same brand (Royal) as Kroger. In their vegan section, they have a few beef flavored items that doesn't say beef flavor, rather it says "Cow Flavour".
I do cook a bunch of vegetarian meals. Probably over half of my meals are vegetarian. But when I'm in the mood for meat, I want high quality meat, not meat process or meat flavor. Betcha this "ham" is made overseas. Company HQ is Australia.
One of the reasons I have kicked up my hunting and fishing is because of better quality meat and fish.

Here is the nutritional value of it. It claims to be all natural.

What's so hard to understand? It's a soy-based product flavored with spices to taste like ham. I don't like the taste of ham, so I wouldn't eat it--but I imagine it's several orders of magnitude healthier than regular ham. There are a lot of highly-processed "meat substitute" products that are total garbage, but looking at the ingredients on this one, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Some things I'll never understand: people being critical of others food choices, particularly when they're more healthy than their own.

Based on the description, it's flavored to taste like chicken. So why not just call it "vegetarian chicken"?

Chicken puree or chicken loaf sounds gross. But reconstituted ham is okay. So it's soy bird ham loaf. The texture of ham, the flavor of chicken, the cholesterol of wood chips. Win-win-win.

If someone keeps getting their food stolen from the work fridge, they could switch to this stuff. It repels the unenlightened. Now, get me a crab juice!

I wouldn't. Tell her it's HER problem!

I've been voluntarily going without meat for a couple of weeks. Its a partial fast thing, not a vegetarian thing. But from this experience, I will tell you that if I ever did go vegetarian I would NOT eat "fake meat" like that stuff or a veggie burger patty. Its putrid. There are plenty of veggie options that taste good and nourish you without pretending to be something they aren't.

And I'm really looking forward to a big-honkin burger or rib-eye come this weekend.

My High schooler is currently doing the veg deal. Her two older sisters did it in HS as well. Once they hit college they went back to eating real food.
