To avoid seeming psychotic and insensitive, I love cats, I have one myself! No joke, that's what was stuck in there. I felt really bad, but by that point it was game over for kitty. I felt even worse for the guy who had to get it out, he had to pull the axle to get it out because it was frozen and wedged in there. Yowsa.

No idea. The service writer asked the customer if she had a cat. She said no. No way you wouldnt notice something like that. Then again, people in MN are really bad drivers. They are oblivious to so much that it amazes me.

cats always climb up under and in cars to get out of the weather..... and sometimes they cannot get out fast enough or don't get scared. our neighbors kitten climbe d in the durango and was ok after flying off when we pulled away. I also left my sunroof open and was scared by a cat who freaked out when I opened the door in the morning

I used to have a cat liked to sun himself on my rear package shelf. Could have seriously broiled him if I rolled the windows up without looking.

We got behind someone one time that had a dead one hanging down. Full sized pick-up, cat was just about dragging. I had about 900lbs of flooring in my car at the time and couldn't get around to tell him. I'm not a cat fan but that's a shame.

I had a bus driver tell me he started up his regular bus (front engine school bus) one day and heard a bunch of noise from the engine.. He shut it off and opened the hood. He guessed some cat had crawled up on the engine during the night and ended up in the fan when it started.

..it was apparently quite the mess.

Dude I always had so much respect for you as you always have such good interesting posts. Then you post this and think this is funny. I lost all that respect after this post.

Just relax. It's not a statement of The Critics character, its just a random post poking fun at something so oddly strange. The Critic is still one of the better posters on BITOG. Anyone with half a brain would find this sad, and that's a given. No need to get offended.

I started up a John Deere combine once with a cat in the fan shroud (turns out it was pregnant). It was a customer's combine at the shop- the insurance company covered the bill. It tore up the radiator, charge air cooler, fan, accessory brackets, and the gear case cover. The bill was in the neighborhood of $3000

I remeber i was driving my jeep early morning once and I looked over and saw a cat it scared the [censored] out of me. I think I scared it too cause it jumped off the side while I was going 60 on the street. I had no top on the jeep just the soft top with the door portions off.

Dogs and cats have two different kinds of intelligence. Dogs are pretty dumb at figureing things out and solving problems, but have pretty decent common sense most of the time. Cat's on the other hand, are so smart that they figure out how to open doors, and do all kinds of things. But they have no common sense. Now owning two cats, we can 100% understand and agree with the phrase "curiosity killed the cat"

The last RWD car my mom drove was some early '80s Buick, a big squarish thing with a gutless V6. I don't remember whether it ever killed a cat, but at least two came close. One rode two miles into town under the hood. The other one got clipped by the fan. He dropped out of the shroud, stiff but alive. We put him in a box with a blanket and he woke up fine in a few hours. He would jump every time he heard a car start from then on, though.

Crtic was just REPORTING on a conversation he had with someone else - not like he or Acuratech actually DID this - stuff happens, and you can't help but sometimes be witness to it - get a freakin' grip!
