Sludged up Ford engine video

how even does it get that bad. my wife (before she was my wife and all that) drove her jeep 4.0 for over 100k just adding oil when it sounded like it needed some, according to her that is. first time i checked the stick it was bone dry ! added 4.5 liters that day and its been getting regularly changed ever since. not to mention its mostly clean inside too !

Yeah, I also wondered. Like your wife's Jeep, my 2002 Explorer hasn't seen an oil change since 100K - but it looks nothing like that.

I use to go in auto salvage yards years ago and sludged engines were common. That neglected Engine is nothing unique. In fact, if I played the lottery, which I don’t and happened to win a huge sum of money, I’d have a test fleet: how long can a Saleen Mustang last on 0W16 and 7500 OCI’s, a Cummins Ram hot shot truck on 5W30 Valvoline white bottle….

I don't know, but I know that an V6 Explorer can go over 100000 without ever changing oil (just topping) or filter.
