Sleeper Japanese or American Wagon option?

I second the BMW wagon. Maintenance on my M5 was generally pretty easy (aside from the clutch replacement which was handled by the dealer) and parts were not insanely expensive, I'd think a non-M car would be considerably less expensive in this regard.

I can’t see myself driving a flashy car unless it is a toy and I take it a spend and put it away immediately in the garage and ai live in isolated area such as Arizona, Texas, or places with high speed low traffic density area.

If I wasn’t in a state with annual car tax (very high) and live on a steep hill, I would buy a Corvette. Since it is not feasible at this time, I want a sleep wagon because van isn’t incognito and very difficult to get decent acceleration out of it. If zi just want to go fast, I would just get a Tesla and leave most non-electric vehicles in the dust.

Are there any reliable wagon that has some oophm? I dont remember if the Caddy is still in production but are there other sleeper option? As much as I love to own a European machine, I cannot responsibly do it. I don’t even think my handy mechanic works on them.

I see the Cadillac CTS Wagon going for $60k locally with 50k-60k miles from 2013-214 era. I recall they were only in the $60k range ($63k MSRP) new back then. The 2024 CTS has twin turbo V6 and is $65k MSRP.
Depending on where you are, pick up a Legacy or outback XT wagon with a manual transmission.

Speaking of sleepers, the 2024 CT5 Premium Luxury can be had with the V6 TT for around 47k. Saves at least $10k by getting the lower trim instead of the V series that comes standard with the V6 TT. Just go on www.autotrader.com and do a search plugging in 6 cylinder for engine option.

I will absolutely throw Volvo as a reputable contender in this melee. They don’t scorch the earth but they can be loads of fun. A good condition P2 would be fun but getting hard to find. A V70 might suit the bill. Otherwise, that Buick looks pretty juicy.
The R model with its six speed would be a good candidate.
