Few people even know what that is. Of course, the big GM V12 was incredibly thirsty, so the turbodiesel won out when it came to real world economical operation. I remember hearing that they were capable of 2mpg!

Fast forward to today, where the Cummins Turbo Diesel is 44% thermally efficient and will move a 26 foot moving van at slightly better than 10MPG.
