The tube of my Wurth Silicone Compound is running low and I’m looking for a replacement. It served me well over the years as a brake guide pin lube as well as general use whenever I needed something that’s rubber compatible.

I’m looking for something similar that is thick and easy to spread.

I see that many people like Mission Silicon Paste as well as the 3M variant, but these don’t seem to be available online, at least at sensible prices.

What are some good options out there?

Interesting, I wonder what's going on at HUSKEY that's holding them up from supplying 3M / Mission...

Sil-Glyde is castor oil based with just a bit of silicone, AGS have a silicone dielectric product but there's no tech data for it.

Synco have a straight Silicone Super-Lube but it's a thinner dielectric style as well, also apparently they got bought by the same vulture capital firm that bought Kano Labs and jacked up the prices for Kroil, so that sucks.

Raybestos DBL-2T (silicone with PTFE) remains an excellent value thankfully.

I would say that if you want a readily available thicker straight silicone compound? Then Molykote 111 is your best bet, it's not the cheapest but you can't go wrong with the gold standard.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I’m intrigued about the PTFE in some of the products.
While it’s probably good in applications where there is metal contact, would it have any negative effects on o-rings, rubber boots, plastics etc?

I’m leaning towards 100% silicone paste at the moment.

The PTFE stuff like raybestos should be rubber safe.

Went with Trav’s suggestion. $16 for 8oz tube is a pretty good deal. Came with two brushes and a microfiber towel. It is thick and smooth, exactly what I was looking for.

I didn’t know that. It really stinks…

OP, napa has 3M silicone grease last I looked. You can also look into if the Honda shin etsu grease meets your needs…
