Should I report this to my CC company?

I ended up filing a dispute with my credit card company over a porting job I had done on my lower intake manifold. I took it back once to have the work corrected and still got it back in poor shape that would’ve caused my car to run like [censored].

Last Fri I filed a dispute with my credit card company and left a 1 star review on the engine shop in questions Facebook page stating that the work done wasn’t up to standard.

On Monday the owners son whom works at the shop replied to my comment on his fathers Facebook business page threatening me.

He stated I don’t know [censored], that I needed to bring back the manifold or I would be placed on a list of debtors which would be hung on the shop wall with my name in bold so everyone in town will see that I don’t pay my bills. He also claimed I just want free [censored].

After all that he told me to come talk to his father face to face like a man (I had done this once already) and that I’d better not be disrespectful because he isn’t as even tempered as his father. The last part of his reply included his personal cell phone number telling me to call if I had anything more to say.

I screenshotted the reply and I’m wondering if I should send it to my CC company or wait until they contact me in regards to the dispute.

Absolutely. That shop doesn't sound reputable. If they put a list of poor customers on the wall then it shows the quality of people they are. Time to run away.

Sorry to hear about this bad experience.

Why not post the name of the shop here and send him a link? Morons like that who made a threat like that would get that exact treatment from me. In fact I'd post it up on every site I could think of, and word it so he couldn't even think of the slim chance of trying to sue me.

Post up the name!

If you really want to take care of it...join Pirate4x4 and post it in the General Chit Chat section. Lots of members there are familiar with this type of situation. They'll fix it.

This is right up their alley.

It would be gloves off and game on for that moron, and yes I'd report it to the CC company just to stick him for that reply.

Definitely dispute the charge with your credit card company. Don't let them get away with taking your money for shady unprofessional work.

I find it hilarious that in the middle of that moronic rant, he tells you to "act professional". What a loser! Yep, just the kinda guy I'd want to represent my business.

Give Mocha Mike his money!! Epic thread over there and those guys are good to go.

Edit: plus if you post up his # over there he will receive calls at all hours...Pirate 4x4 indeed!

OP, In your position I'd go to a reputable shop and get their opinion on the job - nothing like gettng another professional to back up your opinion. I'm not saying you don't know what you are talking about, I'm saying that right now there are two guys in a pssssing match over some work that was done. Another independent unbiased apppraisal of the work is what you need, both to shut up this [censored] and to lend some weight to your CC company's investigation.

Did you check the work with them prior to leaving with it the second time? Did you contact them about the quality after the 2nd job before posting the review? I might suggest you should have taken the measurements in the shop before accepting the rework or perhaps you should have taken the intake back (again) and shown them exactly what you thought was wrong with them and how you wanted it fixed or what you expected. They may think they did a quality job and then get blindsided in an online review.

That doesn't excuse the response from the son and I would make an in person visit to speak with the father and show him what his son is posting. He may be interested, he may not, but I'd give him the chance to make it right.

How do you know the job is bad? Rough ports are good for wet flow.

The reply is unprofessional though but you shouldn't pull the plug on the CC until you try a few times to get the job corrected.

On you first conversation what was their reply as to the finish on the ports?

Need more detail, not a bunch of emotional girly replies on here.

Post on a facebook - ha ha ha!
Girls.

I'm with Pike51.
Now what LIM on what engine? Intake porting is a waste of money, most street gain is found in in upping the volume in the valve bowl area- what other work has been done?

Yeah, I'd bring this up with CC company and info the Dad on the son's unprofessional response. I've tried dozens of auto shops over my 40 yrs and have yet to find one without flaw. But the best ones made good on their mistakes. It's annoying when you have to bring an item back 2 or 3 times to have it done right. One return should be plenty.

Have to chuckle at that fact that EVERYONE in town knows his Dad does perfect work on every job. Just finished up on an Ebay dispute where a "100% positive feedback" seller sent me a clearly damaged item (barely discernible in any of the photos) and swore up and down that he never ships out damaged stuff. Basically called me a liar and scammer. A series of close up photos sent to Ebay and they covered the entire transaction including shipping both ways. In the end, the seller's own photos and claiming he cleaned every inch of the item before shipping hung him. He'd have been better off shutting his mouth.

There is no getting it corrected. In order to fix it I’d have to overstep gasket boundaries. Oh and this guy also told me to port my heads larger than the lower intake gasket opening. I have seen the lower intake from Milzy Motorsports along with a member of a 3800 group on Facebook and both were ported and looked much better than what I received. I even had a couple members say they could do it better for half the price.

And guys there’s no need to go on there spamming the review page and scolding the business owner and his son. I went through my CC company to avoid any drama. I’ve seen how many small business operate and given the reply I got I know I made the right choice.
