Took my Subaru back to the dealer this evening and they said that the dipstick shows about 1 cup excess oil. They said that that is OK and there is no need to drain any out. I may take it to an independent Subaru mechanic that is near me just to get a second opinion.
Should I change oil on infrequent driven Subie?

Don't worry, just drive it. It'll be gone soon enough. That much over is absolutely nothing to worry about
