I was planningon running a used oil analysis at about 6 months but...well it's been a long winter. Thanks for the advise.
Should I bother with UOA or just change out?

Have you done a used oil analysis before? If not go for it. If yes and all was well, skip it. That's my rule of toe, er thumb.

I would change it now - because eight months from now will be the end of November - just enough time before the lousy parts of next winter settle-in once again.

I wouldn't do change it or run a used oil analysis. I'd run it till you had full year or 10,000 miles. Then get a used oil analysis done to make sure it did ok. If at that point everything looks good. Then continue to do annual oci.
I would go once a year change on that oil.
That's cool with me. I'm in no rush to change if I don't need to. I was mostly worried about my use being especially harsh given the short trips in cold weather. I did this specifically so I could go long OCI but some recent reading I've done here got me worried. I heard several recommendations that if you drive like I do, with lots of short trips, that you may be better with dino SM and 3mo/5K changes. But, if I'm gonna leave it in I will go get a used oil analysis just to be safe. If it looks OK then I'll do another at 1 year. Will I need to have a TBN in my used oil analysis? That was extra at Blackstone.

You'll definately want the TBN done-short trip driving usually means the oil does not heat sufficiently to evaporate out moisture which in turn leads to acid production and a depleted TBN. Under short trip conditions, TBN will likely be the limiting factor.
