Final update on Shorty, the first people who showed interest came to the rescue today for a meet and greet with their 12 YO weimaraner, loved him and he got adopted. He went right over to the man and said yep you'll do. He's going to live up on the side of a nearby mountain with 1/4 acre of fenced natural terrain to do dog things to his heart's content. This is the last photo I took of him hanging with our rescue dog Penny. It's really special to help these dogs get a second chance and have a great life. We had him 5 weeks.

Awesome! What kind of camera was this picture taken with? It looks like a very realistic painting and it's a very intriguing photo.

You go Shorty!

I've always been crazy about dogs and finally get to do something with them. We found our thing with these dogs that need some special care.

I have a Google Pixel 9 phone that doesn't take the best photo so I use an edit button that says dynamic. Never know what you're going to get.

A lot of people would have cast that poor boy aside. Good on you for taking him in and caring for him until he could be adopted.

It's amazing how well our furry companions can adapt to adverse situations like his.

Cheers! 🍻

He was. We found out today in his paperwork he came from a high-kill shelter in far NE Arizona on the Rez. Too many dogs, not enough people for them. Our manager talks to these shelters and rescues all the time and takes all we can hold. He was such a happy dog she took a chance with the injury. Breaks my heart, we can't get them all but we get all we can handle. We get them out on their last day many times. Not long ago we brought in 15 dogs in our high top Nissan NV2500, the most ever, on their last day. 😢 I can only think of the ones we save.

Rescues KNOW they got another chance and those that adopt them give them their best life ever. The pups become the most loyal, loving and grateful creatures because of it. Good on you @AZjeff for doing this noble work. I sometimes volunteer at my local shelter and want to take them all home. I get just as excited as they do when someone comes to take them to their forever home. All of mine have been rescues and the best dogs ever.

Oh, and love the name too 😁.

I noticed this. I think it's due to the rug weave and the dogs fur ooat.
