KYB seems to be the cheapest option, then Toyota, and then Bilstein.

The car has close to 200K. I never bothered to looked into shocks until the dealer found out that the rear ones were leaking.

Toyota OE seems like a no brainer to me given how long they have lasted since new.

Choose to get your own parts and have the installer install them.
Remember replace the boots even if the old ones are good.
The labor is anywhere between 1-1.7 hrs per side and being a truck it could be much less.

$400 for rear shocks is extremely high. Someone above said that's a good deal.... no -- $400 for a pair of fronts would be more reasonable. The rears on my tundra were almost to do. The upper nut was hard to get at but once I had a good wrench on it and a vice grip on the shock shaft the old one came right out. Maybe $400 means they have to raise the bed? I'd definitely get a second opinion if you aren't doing the work yourself.

Assuming your taco is a shock-thru-spring design up front, those are much more labor intensive. Bilstein or KYB in my opinion for these. I do like the monroe reflex in trucks, however bilstein/kyb are probably more in character with the taco.
