Can this be used in a Mazda speed 3 direct injected turbo motor. I have been told with the fuel dilution rate and the high temperatures with this engine, that this would be the best to use.
This looks like a it's for heavy trucks and equipment. Please help.

You should be fine. It is a pretty stout Synth for the price. I'm using Rotella 10w-30 dino in my Escort right now and haven't noticed any problems.

The synthetic 5W-40 will cost you twice as much as any brand regular 15w40 diesel/gas oil. In FL you should not really need the 5W which would be needed only in temps below freezing, usually. You will get the same benefit (SAE 40 heavy duty oil at operating temp) at nearly half the price, allowing more frequent oil changes, which sounds like what is needed in these engines if fuel dilution is a problem.
Look for some:

Delo 15w40
Delvac 15w40
Rotella 15w40

You may also look at RLI Biosyn oil (google it) for a fuel dilution application such as yours. Several of their oils have shown a remarkable ability to hold up very well in these situations. It's not cheap oil but may help keep your engine alive for much longer than other oils for your special situation.

Well said. I live in edmonton and only use 5W40 for winter. No need in summer, gets close to 100F sometimes too.

I would not use a dino with a turbocharged vehicle.
The full synthetic 5-40 Rotella seems perfect, and is very reasonably priced compared to famous brand synthetics. It is also well built. I would use it.

My Mazda CX7 turbo call for a 5w30. I settled on PP 5w30 but would not hesitate to run Mobil 1 5w30. While a 5w40 will work, I wonder if it is the best viscosity for the VVT system.

You have a 4 cyl engine with Variable Valve Timing and 6 quarts of capacity. Its pretty well powered but not overly so.

Stick with the better 5w30 oils that have a good base stock, group 3 or better. Its really tempting to go with a thicker HDEO but your cooling is going to be less than a better flowing oil.

You have a fairly lean running engine with the VVT so you don't need the heavy soot control found in a diesel add package oil. Find a stout 5w30 that you know is group 3 or better. Penz Platinum, Mobil 1, Amsoil, Redline all have good reputations for a good 5w30.

I do it every now and then but only if I want to waste oil and change it at 2-3k intervals. It's certainly not something I do regularly....Done it 3-4 times in my car but my oil gets changed no more than once every month and a half. I certainly wouldn't say it's comparable to having a good stout 5W40, though.
