Shelf Life

I am thinking of purchasing 3 or 4 quart bottles of DOT 3 brake fluid for future use. But, then I began wondering if brake fluid has a shelf life????

So, if a bottle of fluid is SEALED and has NEVER been opened can it be stored for a couple of years with no problem? Or, is it best to not purchase brake fluid in advance?

It is best not to purchase too much BF in advance however if it is sealed and unopened it will be ok. I throw BF out after opening it so I try to top everything up or do a large job.
