Hi all looking for some advice/help with regards to my tyre machine, the turntable bit at the top( sorry don't know the official name for it)won't spin, all i get is a buzzing noise when the pedal is pressed unless I give the belt a little tug then it spins perfectly until the pedal is released if I try the pedal again I have to give the belt a tug to get it turning again. I have checked the capacitor on the motor with my multi meter and all is good . One thing I did notice when I took the front cover off was a piece of wire lying on the floor of the machine please see pics of the piece of wire and a pic of how the motor is wired im wondering if the bridge wire has come off while I was transporting the machine to my unit . Any help/advice greatly appreciated tia Chris

Hi thanks for the reply should have thought of adding the voltage its single phase 240v

The bottom left terminal with only one wire on it is suspicious. I think that is one end of the starting winding. The other end is top middle and goes through the capacitor to return to the line at the green wire. So try using the little jumper to connect the bottom left to the top left (blue wire from the line) and stand back and hit the button. If that works you could make it a bit more permanent by just moving the lone yellow wire up to the top left with the blue and the black.

Are the white and purple plugged onto opposite capacitor terminals? It kind of looks like they are on the same one, which won't work.

Replacing the whole motor might be considered. It looks quite tired and hacked up.

Thanks for your reply and yes the white and purple go to the opposite terminals on the capacitor not the same one , I will give what you suggested a go tomorrow and report back my findings thanks again

Looking at the picture some more does the capacitor have cracks and a hole in the case? No matter what the ohmmeter says that would be a problem.

Hi again just letting you know you was spot on about the jumper wire going from bottom left to top left, up and running perfectly again now so a massive thankyou for the knowledge/info you gave me , much appreciated thanks again Chris
