I just got finished running a few ounces of water/acetone/SI-1 through a vacuum hose in my car. I had beaten on the car hard for the previous 15 minutes. I stopped the car, hooked up the hose, and sucked down half a glass spaghetti jar of the mix(2 oz acetone, 1 oz SI-1, and the rest water. After the halfway point I pulled the hose out and buttoned it up. Intake manifold was cool to the touch. Then I took her out for a good flogging. Usually, anything past half throttle is useless because of the audible pinging. Beat on it pretty hard, and no noises. I will take it up a big hill tomorrow for church, and I will see how she does.

yeah, I was bored, and was hoping that some of the acetone might help the rings out. I have just a little of the SI-1 left, and didn't know how much good it would do in 30 liters of fuel, so in it went too. The hose I found is small enough that it doesn't pull any real vacuum until higher in the RPM range. I may try a moving water suck next time.
it cost 30 yen for a meter, so I'm not to worried about it. the port was all of 4 mms, and I put a basketball needle in the hose as a regulator. The size of the port and the little orifice did just fine. From now on I will be using just water, may just get a bottle mount that sets up on my air conditioner vent so I can be completely lazy about it.
I thought this was a thread about a romantic encounter.......
Thanks Pablo. I haven't yet had one of those. The car does drive much better. No noise until 5000 rpms, which I think is more valve float than ping.

After what you told us the other day about attempting to buy PCV tubing I can't help but wonder how many permits you had to get in order to purchase and to use these rigorously controlled solvents?
SI-1 was $15 for a normal bottle, acetone was $18 for a liter, and the water is about $30 a month. No permits needed. They just don’t want you changing parts without 50 people knowing about it.
Pablo, In Japanese we would call you a "sukebe". Don’t worry too much. I just read about a member of the Hokkaido (northern island) parliament getting a slap on the wrist for relations with a 13 year old involving money, so don’t feel too bad. Article said he didn't know she wasn't over 18, and he never said he would give her money.
