I've previously posted that the 6R140 in my '11 F350 would periodically drop into limp mode first start of the day. Oftentimes restarting would cure it. I tried TransTune as a Hail Mary but it eliminated that problem, and it's been years now. I'm guessing it was most likely a sticky solenoid.

Two days ago the wife's '08 F150 4R75 suddenly experienced a VERY delayed shift into 2nd. If I let off the accelerator -- as you would with a manual -- it was capable of going to 2nd. Downshifts into 2nd were also kinda harsh.

I'd get a "TRANS FAULT" reading in the odo (didn't know it was capable) and a flashing OD light. Not surprisingly the code was an 0732, indicating an issue with 2nd gear. You need something that can go deeper than basic OBD2 codes.

We were in town and once again this struck me as maybe a sticky solenoid. Once again I expected nothing but figured a bottle of TransTune was worth the ~$15 gamble. Worst case, I'm $15 poorer.

We kept running errands and after several miles it suddenly shifted to 2nd as it should. It's been fine for the past three days.

Will continue to log a few more miles, then probably change the filter for good measure. Already have a Dorman pan with plug and last did a spill 'n fill about 6k ago, refilling with M1 ATF which says it is MercV acceptable

I know no one needs to see the bottle but I like this trend toward clear funnels ‐‐ it just makes it a little easier, esp with long dipstick tubes that back up

Please note no one is suggesting an additive or cleaner can miraculously fix EVERY trans problem. But if you have an inkling of the problem and it could be a sticky/clogged solenoid, products like this might be worth a try. Hope for the best but expect the worst.

Be careful posting an additive or cleaner fixed a transmission, you might open Pandora's Box. Especially something with the name SeaFoam on it. Hopefully your disclaimer keeps a lid on it. ;)
